Last Saturday was Park Beautification and Cleanup Day at Monterey Heights Park in Lemon Grove and Helix Helps was there.

From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Helix employees and their families joined other volunteers from the Lemon Grove community to prepare Monterey Heights Park for Little League season. We removed trash, cleaned the dugouts and went toe to toe with crabgrass. What a day.

“The event was a great success,” said Malik Tamimi, who organized the event for the city of Lemon Grove, in an email to Helix on Monday.

“We had 161 volunteers, filled up three roll off bins with litter and landscape debris.  We also removed graffiti.  Thank you and your team for giving back to our community and helping make this community event a great success.  We are grateful that Helix Water District is a part of our Lemon Grove Community and for helping to Keep Lemon Grove Beautiful!”
