Safe drinking water is our highest priority. Our chemist, biologist and plant and system operators assure that our water meets all standards set by the EPA and the State of California.
SOURCE WATER TESTING
What’s in water varies based on the geology and environment it flows through. We test our source water and adjust treatment accordingly.
200 TESTS PER DAY
We collect and analyze 200 water samples a day from 10 different points in the water treatment process.
WATER SYSTEM TESTING
We test just under 100 water samples a week from our distribution system to ensure water quality levels all the way to customer faucets.
NO LEAD PIPE
We have no lead water mains or service lines in our distribution system and our water is non-corrosive to customer plumbing.
We prevent water quality issues by flushing water that has remained in a pipe longer than expected.
We turn oxygen (O2) into ozone (O3) and use it to disinfect our water during the treatment process. You’ll taste the difference!
Our staff testing water quality and operating the plant are highly trained and must pass rigorous examinations at each level of industry certification.

MILES OF PIPE
For the last 100 years we’ve gone to the mountains for our water, because colder temperatures increase condensation and precipitation levels. Today, a diverse and still developing portfolio of water resources protects the San Diego Region against drought and climate change.
